Key Take Aways:
Travel Accident coverage ONLY covers for loss of life, or serious injury which is defined as loss of limb, sight, or hearing due to the accident. This does NOT cover medical expenses for anything else, such as, illness, injury, etc. If traveling internationally I feel it is still vital to get a separate travel insurance policy to make sure you have adequate medical coverage. It’s very rare that your health insurance at home with actually cover you due to coding being so different in other countries.
There are great benefits for travel protection with these credit cards, so I do recommend booking your trip with one of these cards (even better if you can do multiple so you have options. But do NOT consider this as medical travel insurance. Many travel insurance plans far exceed what is offered from a travel credit card policy.
