Favorite Family Travel Gear

These are the travel products our family actually packs, tested on trips around the world. You’ll find the gear that keeps passports and cards safe, bags that carry well, power banks for long travel days, water filters, and the comfy layers that make red-eyes bearable. I’m a certified travel insurance advisor, so I care a lot about the small things that keep trips calm, and the big things too.

Travel Gear Questions

What travel gear do you never leave home without?
A slim RFID pouch for passports and cards, a BetaLock to clip and secure our bags, a big power bank, and a universal travel adapter. They take up almost no space and solve the problems that stress families out the most.

What helps keep kids safe and easy to spot while traveling?
Bright clothing, like a colorful quick-dry hoodie, makes it much easier to spot your kid in a crowded airport or market. Colorful bags help too, since they stand out and are less likely to be grabbed than bags that blend in.

Do I need travel insurance if I already have good gear?
Gear protects your stuff in the moment, while travel insurance helps with the expensive surprises, like a canceled trip or a medical issue abroad. As a certified travel insurance advisor, I recommend comparing plans before you go so you know what’s covered.
